Since 1991, Teresa has owned and operated the insurance agency Long Term Care Associates (LTCA, Inc.), one of the first independent agencies in Indiana to specialize in long term care insurance.
As president of LTCA, Inc., Teresa establishes the company’s priorities, which are: consumer needs and protection issues, research, education, and assisting other agents through brokerage relationships.LTCA promotes a client-focused philosophy. “State officials describe Teresa as the most consumer-oriented long term care insurance agent in the state.” (Ft. In 1992, Teresa became an accredited instructor to teach Long Term Care continuing education to insurance agents. She continues to provide three specific LTC courses required by Indiana regulation for LTC agents.
Over the years, Teresa has had continuous input into LTC insurance regulation and legislation. She was involved in the development and implementation of the Indiana Long Term Care Insurance Program (also known as the “Indiana Partnership Program”). Teresa believes strongly in the consumer benefits and protections included in Indiana Partnership LTC policies. As a result, LTCA works primarily with policies endorsed by the Program.
Prior to becoming an insurance agent, Teresa worked in consumer advocacy with Unified Neighbors for 7 years. In 1983, she received a CASPER Award from the Community Service Council of Indianapolis for a series of stories she co-wrote concerning long term nursing care. In 2006, Teresa earned the LTCP (Long Term Care Professional) designation. In December 2008, she was honored by the Indiana Commissioner of Insurance “in recognition of the outstanding contribution in the field of insurance.”
Teresa is a native Hoosier and resides in Indianapolis with her husband.
